I am ex-Navy and I traveled worldwide throughout my 20s. This was during a impressionable age and I was bitten by the wandering bug. I would like to travel again, even if it’s just around the U.S. (although overseas travel would not be ruled out by any means).
I have visited a myriad of countries, and I have seen....and done, many strange and wonderful things. If you’re interested just ask, I'll bend your ear a while.
Some of the places I would like to visit or activities that interest me
New Orleans French Quarter during Mardi Gras.
Las Vegas.
Beale St. Downtown Memphis during one of their many Blues street festivals.
Driving old Route 66 cross country.
Visiting the many natural and historical landmarks that makes our country great.
But hey, don't think I don't appreciate the simpler things. I love going to live shows and concerts. I enjoy mingling with people at street, heritage, ethnic and beer festivals.
I like to,
(now hold onto something)
go shopping.
*GASP*.
Yep.
I love going to Amish country, flea markets, antiques sales/shops and auctions
Then again....lounging around on a cold day curled up in front of a fire. That too is just as satisfying.
My taste in music runs from the blues to classic rock, classical to new age (I don't care for opera, some experimental jazz, rap or hip hop).
Having been privileged to come of age in the late 70s early 80s I was, as many of you were, exposed to a time of wonderful and memorable music.
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Kansas, Rush, B.B. King, Boston, Aerosmith, ELO, Yes, Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, CSN&Y, the Doobies, Johnny Lee Hooker, Michael Bloomfield, Blue Oyster Cult, Jethro Tull, Eric Clapton, Cream, Traffic, Black Sabbath, Chicago.
And........well, disco, new wave and hairbands....and Vanilla Ice *BRRRR*
(OK, you DO tend to want to forget some things as you get older).
I'm not a biker.
I know, a guy who doesn't own, ride or has previously ridden a bike.
Never was my thing.
I don't care for professional sports. I know, I know. Again, a guy who does not watch sports. Believe me, I get enough guff from my friends
I watch it on occasion with them but don't follow any teams. I'm there more for the comradeship....and food....and beer.
I am also not a dancer. Two left feet doesn't even begin to describe it.
