Friday was a pivotal moment in my life. It made my realize that I was truly accomplished in my career and could stop being all work and no play. I could now finally have time for myself, as long as I found a careful balance. As a dedicated teacher, I worked so hard over the past six years at developing my abilities, curriculum and reputation that I let everything else slide. I was excelling in one direction, while everyone around me was getting settled in their personal lives. Now, I want the missing puzzle piece...someone to share tomorrow with.
I'm an old soul in search of the same. That's not to say that I'm a stick in the mud, because I'm not. I'm mature and find a certain solace in the treasures of the past. Perhaps that is why I adore history in all forms. I like classic rock, but can still boogie down to today's top 40. You'd probably be surprised at the eclectic mix on my iPod. I'm as compassionate as I am passionate. I see the beauty in the simple things and believe in true romance. I'm intelligent and competitive, but not egotistical or mean spirited. I love to laugh and find both Eddie Izzard and Adam Sandler hysterical. I think Hitch was right: "Life is not about how many breaths you take, it's about how many moments take your breath away." Animals are very important to me, so you Must Love Dogs. I'm very creative and organized and can multi-task with the best of them. Pancakes are the best breakfast. Coffee should be light and sweet and with Coffeemate. Honesty is very important to me, so is trust. I've tried online dating before and always seem to find guys who are not sincere, yet the hopeless romantic in me keeps coming back. You should know, however, that I intend to take things both slow and as they come. I'm not going to get an email from you and then jump into a meeting. I don't have any specific height/weight/profession/blood type requirements. I just want someone who will make me laugh, be the support that I will be for them, be my best friend and be the person that I will share tomorrow with.
