Ik beschrijf mezelf als:

I would like to find a partner who is kind and considerate, that has expectations, but also understands that we are all wonderfully different and that is what makes us so attractive. I do not want a carbon copy of myself, but I do recognize that some affinities are necessary to get along. I believe in respect and honesty... those are VERY important traits to me. I am a very open and straightforward person and recognize that not everyone will appreciate that, but I am loyal and respectful and I would never say anything to purposely hurt someone's feelings. I try to laugh as much as possible, especially at myself and the day-to-day crises that we all face. I try to reserve seriousness for those times when it cannot be avoided.

I want to find someone whose face lights up when I walk in the room. I want to be married 50 years and still fall asleep holding hands. I want a partner who will support me and always encourage me to be the best I can be. While I am aware that life is a work in progress, I am pretty happy with who I am, where I am, and where I am heading. I will always accept positive suggestions, but I am not looking for anyone to “mold” me to their liking. I believe that we should work towards finding someone that matches us and not work to match the person we have found.

I am what you would call a happy soul, looking for someone special to join me along this journey towards tomorrow. I am romantic, witty, open-minded, caring, intellectually curious, of sound values, independent, put honor and respect above everything, genuinely curious, and have knowledge and talent to share, but am always up for learning new things. I love to listen to live music - be that in a bar or on a street corner, to fill my head with quirky historical notions, to explore, good movies, to ski, to cycle, and anything that looks like fun. I don't need fancy things to be happy. It is the simple things in life that I treasure.
I try to enjoy all the beautiful things life has to offer, like pulling over my car on the highway to catch the sunset, closing my eyes and listening to the sound of the waves, or turning my head to the sky while it’s snowing to feel the snowflakes melt on my face. I listen to NPR (if you don't know what that is, need not apply) and usually prefer to watch movies that leave you thinking rather than empty (ex. Syriana, Revolutionary Road, The Soloist, Rendition, only to name a few), but occasionally will go for something less mind-engaging just for the laughs. I love to wander around art galleries or historical parts of the city soaking in the architecture and atmosphere. It fills my soul like few things do. I am young at heart and hope to never lose that spirit.
